Jimmie has been involved with the Hendrick Marrow Program since his rookie season at Hendrick Motorsports in 2002. In addition to participating in events to benefit the Hendrick Marrow Program such as the Learn Live Hope Golf Classic, Jimmie served as the spokesperson for the NASCAR Foundation Blood and Marrow Drive for 2006-2008.

Inaugural Half Marathon and 5K

On November 22, 2009 the Hendrick Marrow Program held its inaugural Half Marathon, 5K and Kids Dash. There were 115 participants on hand to run, walk and dash at Lowe’s Motor Speedway in Concord, North Carolina! Click

Be The Match Marrowthon
- The 2009 Be The Match Marrowthon was a great success! Be The Match met their goal of adding 46,000 new members to the Registry. They raised the funds to add many more and thousands of people learned about the need for bone marrow donors and financial contributions to make life-saving transplants possible.
NASCAR Foundation Blood and Marrow Drive 2006-2008

On any given day, more than 6,000 children and adults are searching for a marrow match on the National Marrow Donor Program Registry® (NMDP). Between 2006 and 2008, 9,828 pints of blood were collected and 6,265 members were added to the National Marrow Donor Program Registry. The donations from the drives have the potential to save over 34,914 lives.
